The Division of Paediatric and Adolescent Haematology/Oncology is responsible for providing state-of-the-art treatment, comprehensive care and thorough aftercare to children and adolescents with hematologic and oncologic diseases.
This care is possible thanks to close cooperation with other disciplines (pediatrics, neurosurgery, radiology, nuclear medicine, pathology, radiation therapy) and occupational groups (physical therapists, occupational therapists, logopedists, clinical psychologists, educators and social workers) and active research and continual professional development and training.
Networking that takes place within international therapy optimization studies guarantees optimal use of state-of-the-art multimodal therapy concepts (surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, immunomodulatory therapy) while improving the prospects for a cure, advancing treatment options and limiting therapy-induced side effects and late effects.
